Dr Neerja Kamal

Dr Neerja Kamal is the Flinders Fertility Clinical Director and a surgical gynaecologist, operating at both Flinders Medical Centre and Ashford Hospital. She is also a Senior Lecturer with the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University. Neerja is passionate about pregnancy outcomes and has introduced various quality control measures to optimise success rates at Flinders Fertility.
Dr Kamal has a special interest in minimally invasive fertility surgery, male infertility, recurrent miscarriage, endometriosis and fertility preservation. After graduating with a gold medal with distinction in various subjects from India and completing her Reproductive Medicine training at Flinders Medical Centre, Neerja obtained her FRANZCOG fellowship in 2010 and achieved a distinction in her Masters of Reproductive Medicine qualification in 2019. Dr Kamal is a member of AGES, the Fertility society of Australia, ESHRE, ASRM, AMA and ASUM and is currently involved in a research project in conjunction with Flinders University, which aims to explore the relationship between the paternal stress exposure and reproductive outcomes.
Dr Kamal believes that lifestyle has a major impact on fertility and her goal is not only to help patients achieve a healthy pregnancy but to study the long-term health outcomes for children born through IVF. Neerja takes a holistic approach to health and loves yoga.
