Private Health Cover
Although Medicare covers much of the cost of infertility treatments, it doesn’t cover all fertility treatments and services, and it doesn’t cover all of the costs.
For example, depending upon you private health fund and your level of cover, you may receive a rebate for hospital/day surgery expenses including bed fee and theatre fee, anaesthetist fee (a portion thereof), fertility specialist fees (a portion thereof), and cost of medication not included in your In Vitro Fertilisation cycle fees.
Make sure you understand all the procedures your private health fund will cover before starting treatment, in addition, be sure to check your cover’s waiting period before seeking fertility treatment.
